Exact or verbatim search (using quotation marks) - how to find exactly the term or phrase you are searching for

To perform an exact or verbatim search, surround your search term or terms with double quotes.

This is also known as an exact search.

If you are only searching for one specific word, you want to find only that word and exclude other word-form variations.  For example, you may be looking for forgive, and you don't want to see results including the word-form variations of forgiveness and forgiving.  To achieve this, search for "forgive" (including the surrounding quotes).

Similarly, you can search for exact phrases.  If you want to find just Holy Spirit in that order, and not all instances of Holy or Spirit, then put quotes around "Holy Spirit".

Also, our search feature does "fuzzy" matching, so if you perhaps typo laughter as daughter, it will still find instances of laughter for you.  If you do not want any fuzzy matching to happen, and are indeed searching specifically for daughter, then put that single word in quotes when you search for it, like this: "daughter".

Terms like forgive are also known as word stems, and word stemming - or finding the stem of - such terms as forgiveness and forgiving would yield forgive; as will is a stem for willingness, and holy a stem for holiness, etc.
